EDUCATOR NOTES

How to use
this art activity.

What’s inside

  • Educator guide with flexible participation ideas
  • Three roomy line exploration lanes
  • Open adventure map with start and finish markers

Gather a few things

  • Printed activity pages
  • Pencil, crayon or washable marker

Try it together

  1. 1

Show one line and explore it together with a finger, a look or a tool.

  2. 2

Trace beside or over each example, or make a different line in its open lane.

  3. 3

Choose a starting circle on the map and draw a journey to an ending square.

  4. 4

Add places along the route, then share the journey in any preferred way.

Make it your way

  • Use one lane at a time and turn the page to a comfortable angle.
  • A thicker crayon or a larger drawing surface is an option, not a requirement.
  • An adult can draw a line described or selected by the learner.
  • Offer a short route with one place, or extend the story across the whole page.

Participation can mean making, choosing, observing or directing a partner.
